Once, our beloved HH Guruji posed a deeply introspective question to his senior disciples:

“DEFINE YOURSELF. YOUR MIND. YOUR MOOD SWINGS. HOW FAR HAVE YOU EVOLVED? HOW SHOULD THE YOUNG ONES PROCEED?”

What followed were not mere responses, but heartfelt narrations—each a mirror of grace, surrender, and lived wisdom. Their words, spoken straight from the heart, truly have the power to fill one’s eyes with tears.

Sudarshun

Sudarshun began with humility and devotion:

“Beloved HH, the ‘self’ in me has been made, unearthed, unravelled, and rediscovered by You. It has been Your play. All the experiences and wisdom gained are borrowed from You. I am like the moon, and You are the sun providing the light.

Mind and mood swings do happen on the skin of this transparent base, but the base remains unruffled. I am always self-critical and put myself down, hiding my real self, which chooses to remain hidden.”

Reflecting further, he acknowledged the source of his stability:

“Beloved His Holiness, even though I talk in bhakti, the stability and clarity always come from the wisdom and the sadhana that You gave and guided.”

For the younger generation, his guidance was practical and sincere:

“For the young ones, they should embark on long hours of sadhana for the first two years, with a minimum of one to two hours per day, with relaxation being the key.”

He concluded with gratitude for Guruji’s all-pervading guidance:

“Beloved His Holiness, Your spirit always chooses to bless me and guide me. You operate in dual mode—one in the physical realm and another in the spiritual realm. Thank you for guiding me in both.”

Balaji

Balaji reflected on his journey from childhood with honesty and devotion:

“Balaji, as an entity, always wanted to be a nice human being ever since my childhood days. I wanted to realize myself and learned many human values, sang bhajans, attended satsangs, and did the so-called service to humanity. Then behold—you came into my life as my Guru: God, friend, philosopher, guide, and everything.”

He described Guruji’s arrival as a turning point:

“You entered my teenage life as the greatest possible gift. After your entry, all uncertainties disappeared completely. You gave me a new dimension of life. The first thing you eradicated was uncertainty about our future, life, and career. You stood by me through all challenges and successes.”

With emotion, he recalled their shared journeys:

“The countless trips you took us on—carrying me on your bicycle, your bike, and later in your car—to so many Jeeva Samadhis and temples across the country—were all due to your absolute grace and compassion on this unworthy soul to attain liberation.”

He spoke openly about the mind and its fragility:

“My mind, our dear beloved HH, is like a supercomputer that acts as if it knows answers for everything. However, it completely shuts down when it faces crisis, pain, or fear. The mind needs to hold on to something to exist.”

His gratitude flowed endlessly:

“Though I have had many physical ailments and accidents, every time You made me come out of it purer and stronger. You imbibed your wisdom upon us and compromised so much for us. You ate with us, drank tea with us, kept all of us equal, and waited for us whenever we were late.”

He expressed the immeasurable depth of Guruji’s love:

“Your love, grace, and compassion are immense, immeasurable, and unmatched. You indicated Athman. You taught values, love, respect, and awareness.”

Addressing the younger generation, he offered heartfelt advice:

“For the younger ones, I would like to say—do not get deceived by your form. They should start living their lives totally. They must become vulnerable in front of you and open up completely, simply waiting for you to take over.”

He concluded with gratitude and reverence:

“Having got you in their lives, nothing else is required. Jobs, career, wealth—all are just by-products. Thank you, our beloved HH.”

Srimadan

Srimadan began by expressing gratitude to both Her and His Holiness:

“How else can I start without thanking you both for gracing me with a splendid life filled with many colors—learnings, joy, happiness, sadness, emptiness, liveliness, pleasure as a yogi, sitting at the feet of the Master as a devotee, drinking divine nectar again and again.”

When defining himself, he shared his evolution:

“At first, I was a meditator. Then I slowly learned the path of bhakti. When beloved Holiness graced me with meditation, I was a simple ‘professional meditator,’ progressing day by day, little by little.”

Describing Athmadarshan, he said:

“When beloved Holiness gave me a taste of Athmadarshan, I couldn’t understand it at first, but I could sense it. Later, the taste grew deeper and deeper. Athman started revealing itself throughout the day.”

He spoke of realization and surrender:

“I realized that if beloved HH gives me something, it is gifted—whether I know it or not. If I think of beloved HH, I can easily settle in Athman. He is the trust, compassion, and love in me. He is the Athman in me.”

On the mind and mood swings, he observed:

“The mind appears to exist. It is just the sum total of learnings. If it works, let it work. We are not the mind. Mood swings are very rare. When they arise, awareness makes them null.”

When asked about evolution, his humility was evident:

“I don’t know, beloved Holiness. You are the right person to answer this.”

For the young ones, his message was simple and complete:

“Do the activities given by beloved HH. Meditate or be in bhakti 24×7. Live for HH, and you will be taken care of in all walks of life.”

He concluded in deep gratitude:

“In gratitude, I touch the feet of beloved Her and His Holiness for bearing with all my foolishness, shortcomings, and idiocies.”

These quoted voices together form a single living story—a story of surrender, grace, and unconditional love at the feet of the Master.

As their words settled into silence—each reflection offered with humility, devotion, and lived truth—there came a moment of stillness. It was in that sacred pause that Guruji responded, not with elaboration, but with a sentence that carried the weight of immeasurable grace.

Guruji’s Response

“MY OLD SISYAS ARE GLITTERING LIKE DIAMOND.”

In those few words, the Master acknowledged lifetimes of surrender, discipline, and love—revealing that what He had nurtured with patience and compassion now shone with unmistakable brilliance.

And in that recognition, every tear, every practice, every moment of surrender found its meaning. ✨
